What's A Podcast?
Podcasts are MP3 audio programs that are available to be downloaded onto your computer and transferred to an iPod or any portable media device that supports MP3s. It can also be played right on your computer.
NBC17 produces podcasts at 8 a.m., noon and 4 p.m. weekdays to provide listeners with the latest headlines. Sports podcasts are available most weekday mornings and weather podcasts are produced when severe weather threatens the region.

How Do I Get It?
Getting the daily podcast is surprisingly easy -- and free! Apple's 4.9 version of iTunes and subsequent versions include an integrated podcast directory.
iTunes is a free music player that can be used on both Windows and Apple machines.
Several free programs are also available online that will allow you to download the daily MP3 feeds. Here's a list of some popular podcast programs:

- iPodderX (Mac users only)
- Podcast Alley
After you've downloaded a program, you'll be asked to enter a URL to subscribe to the podcast feed. In order to subscribe to an individual NBC17 Podcast, enter the following URL:

After the download is complete, the individual podcasts will appear on your computer as MP3 files. You can listen directly on your computer or load them onto your portable music player. Once you've downloaded a podcast program, the entire process of receiving the latest podcast should take less than a minute.
